Daily Musings—Part 4—When My Mind Says Worry But I Can't

I woke up from a night vision of my son being in the hospital and needing surgery. I was trying to get to him and received a text that he was already out and up brushing his teeth. I was concerned but laid back down and drifted off to sleep. The night vision took up from where it left off, and crossing over an alligator and walking through mud from torrential rain, I made it to his room and saw the bandage. I asked him if he was ok, and he told me he was fine.

I woke up again and was concerned because when dreams/visions come in more than one part, there is something definitely in the making. I was preparing to go into warfare prayers at 4 in the morning. But I immediately felt an overwhelming peace. My mind said, "Worry, danger, attack," but the Ruach Ha'Quodesh said, "Peace, it's not what you think." I began to pray and meditate, asking Aba to guide me to some scriptures to pray. What was this? Then I was led to where I needed to be. Fighting the emotions and thoughts behind the need to worry, I chose to believe my Father and the leading of His Ruach. Turns out, the message was beautiful and was showing what He was getting ready to do in my son's life. Something I had been praying for. The enemy just wanted to be his stupid self for no reason and be a hindrance. But oh, I reminded Him that it is written, "The path of the just is like the shining sun; it shines ever brighter unto the perfect day."

I had to fight against my own understanding, which attempted to take over, and seek for the Father to give me understanding of what was shown to me. It would have been forcing myself to worry at that point because the peace was so strong. I abided in it, and the whole day was beautiful.

Have you ever had a situation or a night vision/dream come up that seemed bad, but Aba said, "Peace"? Have you ever fought against that peace to do what you felt was the logical and responsible thing—take charge and worry? Fret? Plan? We are so programmed to think that we must handle everything in life on our own. If it looks bad, then it must be bad. But one principle that we as believers must understand is that before things materialize in the physical, something took place in the spiritual first. All wars are waged in the spirit before they come to fruition right before our faces. But this flesh is always there to be combative, and if we are driven by the flesh, we will go the opposite way of Yah's will, even in thought.

We must practice walking in His Ruach daily so we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh and decide if we are going to lay our lives and our thoughts down in Yah and be led by Him or reserve certain spaces for Him and the rest for our own perceptions. Yes, we make decisions, but our decisions are based on and led by whom we serve and what we believe.

In that moment, by Yah's grace, I chose to refer back to His word before knowing the meaning behind what He was revealing to me. I knew if the enemy was up to his no-good self, then the fight was on. But I also knew that if this is Aba speaking, He will reveal Himself in it, and that's exactly what He did with the peace that surpassed my understanding. If I had chosen to fear and go into panic, then something sinister would have latched onto that and created something that otherwise wasn't there at all.

Let's lean back in Yah. Lie in His arms and always consult His word about life. The Ruach Ha'Quodesh will lead and guide us into all truths. Let's submit to it. Because it will definitely save you unnecessary anger, tears, and taking a mental health day away from your job or family. Psalm 91:3 says, "Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler." (NKJV) Not might, maybe, or kind of, but surely—with no doubt. Yah is our protection, our guide, our shield, our refuge, and so much more that we don't know the whole list because He is just that full and good. But if He said "surely," then what in that means "never"? I'll wait. Ok, let me give you the answer: nothing. Trust Yah
