Inspiration from "Goodness of God"

Recently, I watched CeCe Winans' music video, "Goodness of God." The song’s beauty resonated deeply with me, especially as it centered around precious memories of her family and ministry. The video highlighted the countless blessings she experienced—not in wealth or material things, but in the invaluable gifts of family, love, protection, success, and witnessing her children grow into adults with their own children. It was clear: Yah had truly been good to her.

Contrasts and Questions

Yet, as I reflected, I realized that my own life over the years bore little resemblance to hers. If someone were to hear my story, they might wonder, “Where was Yah’s goodness in all of that?” My journey was marked by manipulation, abuse, betrayal, and pain—hardly a life to set to such a beautiful song. Still, I am challenged to ask: How can I say that Yah was good to me?

The Impact of Choices

Life is shaped by the choices we make, especially as we move from youth to adulthood. I heard it said that some of these decisions can affect us for five years or even a lifetime. I know I made choices—sometimes out of ignorance, sometimes with full knowledge—shaped by my environment, tradition, influences, mindset, and spiritual interference. Most of these choices carried negative consequences, derailing my life in significant ways. Yet again, I ask: Where was Yah good to me?

Discovering Yah’s Faithfulness

Through all my struggles, I finally reached a profound conclusion: Yah is good, all the time. He never took His eyes off me. There were moments of real danger when my life could have ended, yet I was protected. In the midst of risky choices, I was spared illness. Attempts were made to destroy my mental stability and my dignity, but Yah said no.

Survival and Restoration

I survived with my mind intact, my faculties whole, and with the love of children who chose to stand by me, rejecting the falsehoods that surrounded us. Despite so much grief and pain, I realize now that Yah allowed these experiences so I could support and love others suffering in bondage. My story is evidence of Yahshua’s power—proof that even a life marked by foolishness and pain can be cleansed, redeemed, and restored. The hardness I carried in my heart has been replaced with compassion.

The Journey to Surrender

During the darkest times, when anger and rebellion filled me, Yah remained present. Even as I tried to fill the emptiness on my own, He never left my side. Eventually, I reached the point He always knew I would—the moment of surrender and the desire to know Him for myself, separate from the flawed people who had once misrepresented Him to me.

Testimony of Gratitude

Today, I am able to share this testimony because Yahshua kept me. He has been so good to me—and to you as well. Your life, too, is a reflection of His faithfulness. I may not have the finances or the family structure I once dreamed of, and my accomplishments may not be celebrated by the world. Still, I am grateful to belong to the King, to live as royalty, and to look forward to my future hope. Choosing to be a vessel for Yah is the best decision I have ever made, and He has made all the difference.

He is truly faithful.
