Dream Warfare and the Neuroplasticity Connection

Updated: Dec 29, 2025

Introduction
Ever since childhood, I have experienced profound spiritual communication through dreams and night visions. Elohim has consistently sent messages to me, ensuring clarity in His guidance, whether I understood the meaning fully, partially, or not at all. However, as my life unfolded and I encountered numerous narcissistic relationships-what I prefer to call "situationships"-I observed a significant shift in my dream life, especially during my last marriage.
Spiritual Turmoil and Dream Warfare
After the final separation from my spouse and Yahweh's supernatural intervention that led to my decision to go no contact due to gross continual abuse and alcoholism, unusual and intense spiritual experiences began to manifest. These ranged from demonic torment and being led to dark places in the spiritual realm for initiation attempts to outright spiritual attacks. The intensity of these experiences far exceeded anything I had previously encountered.
Through persistent prayer and fasting, the chaos eventually began to subside. Yet, my dream life remained turbulent, often feeling as though I was living another existence while asleep. In these dreams, past and present situations became intertwined in ways that defied logic. People from my distant past would reappear, merged with current issues that did not trouble me in my waking hours. This confusion weighed heavily upon me for years after the breakup, and I feared that this might become my new normal despite my hope that a solution existed.
Searching for Solutions
I persisted in prayer, fasting, rebuking, binding, and casting out, but the troubling dreams continued. Motivated to find a practical remedy, I researched physical factors affecting dreams. I learned about supplements and dietary adjustments that might help, such as increasing vitamins B6, D, and K2 and magnesium and adopting healthier eating habits. I also reduced screen time and remained selective about the media I consumed.
Despite these efforts, the situation remained unchanged, suggesting that something crucial was still missing from my approach. It was then that I discovered a video discussing neuroplasticity, which sparked a realization within me. Neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize and change its neural networks, seemed connected to my healing journey. Although I had already been engaged in practices like prayer, fasting, speaking the word of Yah, and meditation, I had mistakenly believed that rewiring my brain required professional intervention.
Prayer and the Neuroplasticity Revelation
One evening, I prayed for divine intervention, asking the Father to rewire my brain by healing any misfirings, erasing old pathways, creating new ones, and reinforcing the positive attributes He had instilled in me. Immediately, I felt enveloped in peace and slept better that night.
As days passed, I sensed an impending breakthrough and continued to trust in Abba Yah and immerse myself in His word. Another video reinforced the connection between neuroplasticity and the word of Yah, affirming my authority over my own healing process. I realized that I was not helpless in this area.
Understanding Neuroplasticity
Researching neuroplasticity on www.verywellmind.com, I learned that it is the brain's ability to change, reorganize, or grow neural networks, involving functional changes due to damage or structural changes through learning. Romans 12:2 encourages transformation through mind renewal, aligning with this scientific principle.
The website further explains that repeating thoughts or behaviors strengthens neural pathways, making them more efficient. This plasticity continues into adulthood, including the growth of new neurons. Proverbs 18:21 emphasizes the power of the tongue, and Proverbs 23:7 highlights the influence of thoughts on identity.
Neuroplasticity involves creating new neural pathways, strengthening existing ones, and pruning unnecessary connections—a process mirrored in spiritual teachings. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 and Ezekiel 36:26 speak to becoming a new creation and receiving a new heart and spirit. Pruning, both in the brain and spiritually, is essential for growth. Galatians 5:22-23 and John 15:1-3 describe the fruits of the Ruach and the necessity of pruning for increased fruitfulness.
Spiritual and Emotional Protection
The Structure of the Soul
The soul consists of three essential components: the mind, the will, and the emotions. Each part plays a vital role in defining a person's character and shaping their responses to the challenges and experiences encountered in life. Together, they form the foundation of how individuals think, choose, and feel, impacting every aspect of their spiritual and emotional well-being.
The Role of Emotions
Emotions are linked to the various experiences lived throughout one's life. Every event leaves a mark, and the emotional responses associated with these experiences become closely tied to the memories formed. This connection between emotions and memories influences how a person feels when recalling past events and shapes their emotional landscape, often guiding future reactions and behaviors.
Memory and Emotional Pathways
Memories and emotions interact to create pathways and thought patterns within the mind. As experiences accumulate, these emotional connections play a significant role in developing recurring thoughts and habitual behaviors. This process influences not only how one responds to new situations but also affects one’s perception of future events, reinforcing certain behaviors and ways of thinking over time.
Wisdom for Spiritual and Emotional Protection
Spiritual teachings emphasize the importance of discernment and caution in relationships and interactions. Yahshuah warns against forming covenants with ungodly individuals, encourages careful speech, and advises discernment in choosing relationships. These teachings are designed to safeguard individuals from spiritual contamination and the emotional harm that negative influences can cause.
Scripture provides further guidance for protecting the soul. Proverbs 4:23 instructs believers to guard their hearts, recognizing that the issues of life flow from them. 1st Corinthians 15:33 warns that evil company corrupts good habits, highlighting the power of influence in shaping character. 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18 advises against being unequally yoked with unbelievers, underscoring the incompatibility between righteousness and lawlessness, light and darkness, and believers with unbelievers. These principles serve as a foundation for spiritual and emotional protection, helping individuals maintain integrity and well-being in their lives.
The Transforming Power of Abba Yah
Abba Yah created each of us with the remarkable ability to be reshaped and molded by His divine hands. Through His love and purpose, He sent His beloved Son, Yahshua Ha’Mashiac, to serve as the perfect sacrifice and to shed His blood—blood in which there is ultimate power for transformation and redemption. Our connection to our Father, and the saving power found in the blood of our blessed Savior, enables us to be reborn, redeemed, healed, set free, and delivered from the burdens that weigh on our souls.
We are not destined to remain in low spiritual conditions or continue suffering indefinitely. Abba Yah designed our minds and souls to be malleable, responsive to His shaping and guidance. While the journey toward healing and transformation may not always be easy, the opportunity for renewal and restoration is always within reach.
No matter the type or extent of abuse or hardship one has endured, walking with Abba Yah opens the door for Him to transform us from the inside out. Experiencing the transformative nature of Abba Yah’s hands is a profound and life-changing journey, revealing the depth of His love and the power of spiritual renewal.
