Commitment to Divine Authority

I have resolved not to retain or allow anything or anyone in my life that seeks to control my soul by competing, distorting, or becoming an object of worship. My commitment is clear: I shall have no other gods before Elohim.

Read Exodus 20:3.

Understanding Surrender

According to https://bibledictionarytoday.com/words/surrender/#google_vignette, surrender is the act of yielding oneself to Yah's will and authority. It involves giving up control and allowing Yahuah to guide our lives. Surrender is not just passive acceptance-it is an active, intentional decision to trust Yah’s plan, even when it surpasses our understanding.

Self-Examination and Reflection

Recently, I have spent more time reflecting inwardly, asking the Ruach to examine my beliefs. I’ve closely scrutinized my desires-the things I wish to have or do-and the aspects that define my individual identity.

There are certain things I once hoped to obtain throughout my life. Upon inspection, I realized that these things could foster pride. The objects themselves are not inherently bad, but I questioned whether they would promote humility or become distractions.

Ultimately, I concluded that these things would distract me. My desire is to live a surrendered life, avoiding anything that could lead me away from my Father’s will or inadvertently become an idol.

Living for Divine Expression

My goal is to allow Yahuah to express Himself through the abilities He has placed within me. Therefore, anything that glorifies my own flesh rather than Him is out of the question.

Assessing Our Motives

What about you? Have you reconsidered the things you desire in your heart? Take time to discern whether your motives are rooted in boasting, even passively. Will your desires glorify Him or place the spotlight solely on yourself?

These are important questions to bring before the Father. As a rule of thumb, if something or someone becomes the sole source of your emotional direction and thought process, it is an idol. Such idols must be removed if you want to live and reign with Yahshuah.

Lessons from the Past

I sincerely do not want to attempt to navigate life on my own anymore. Years of trying led to repeated sorrow, much like our Hebrew ancestors—apologizing to Yahuah one moment, then drifting toward another idol the next. This pattern was driven by my environment, ignorance, and a diminished sense of identity.

Embracing Maturity and Worship

Now that I know better, and hopefully you do too, let’s strive for maturity. Let’s actively offer Him the love and devotion He deserves every day. The ability to praise and worship Him in the many beautiful ways of Ruach HaKodesh is a blessing. Many have lost their minds or lives by remaining in sin.

Staying Focused on Him

Continue to grow in His benefits by focusing your affection entirely on Him. Proverbs 4:18 reminds us, “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”
