I can't do it. You can't do it.

There is no way possible to make it through this journey to life without Yahuah. There isn't any way that I can cleanse myself outside of being washed with the blood of Yahushua.

The Modern Wilderness

We are on the same journey our Hebrew ancestors embarked upon coming out of Egypt. The only differences lie in trends, technology, and worldly culture. Idols are no longer mainly crafted and erected as raw stone or wood fixtures. They are now whatever we make them to be—whether it's idolizing material things, relationships, or ourselves. It's a buffet.

We now have a variety of witches from white witches, lightworkers, earth angels, good witches, or bad witches. Doing what we feel is freedom of individualistic expression, and if you condemn sin, then you are labeled as judging and canceled.

The Pull of Culture

One thing remains the same: the pull of whatever culture you live in. I can imagine our ancestors walking and Yahuah telling them to keep looking ahead, don't look to the right or left. But then, they enter the outskirts of a land where they hear the sounds of joyful music and celebration. Yahuah still tells them to keep focusing on the journey ahead.

As they keep walking, they make it to the part where the live action is taking place! Fire breathers, scantily clad dancers, different rituals being performed, songs and evil chanting, all types of tasty food including pork dishes are being served. Our ancestors began to wonder, and Yahuah immediately admonishes them not to wonder or ask any questions about what those unclean people are doing whom the earth abhors along with Him.

Keep your eyes forward and move!

But the seductresses of that strange land began to do provocative dances and speak exotically to the passers by. Fresh meat! Strange men who were just indulging with other men are now looking at the women passing by who look so clean—ready to be defiled.

The Internal Battle

Our ancestors are fighting to keep looking ahead and keep it moving. But now they are thinking about how boring life is. All they do is give offerings, sing to Yahuah, and are told to love Him and keep His ways. But this over here amongst these interesting people looks, sounds, and smells exciting. It looks like freedom!

They are doing what they want to do, and I think I want to taste it all! The freedom Yahuah has offered is now looking like bondage to some, and they continue to grow in their discontentment of their current life. They keep walking, but their minds remember the images of "back there." Some refuse to indulge and are determined to keep Yahuah's ways, while others are trying to figure out how to get back there and get a closer look. Still others are planning out how to have a little fun of their own in the camp. Then you have those who do nothing physically but choose to entertain the lustful thoughts of sin in their minds and play the part of faithfulness.

Present Day: The Same Temptations

Present day, we are faced with the same temptations with the opportunity to choose whom we will serve this day.

So many distractions surround us in our everyday lives. Idolatry, witchcraft, and perversion are embedded in the culture. Perversion, witchcraft, and illicit sex and acts are injected in all sorts of things that are consumed, but the main portals are entertainment by way of social media, music, books, and the Internet. Institutions labeled as places of trust—such as churches and schools—are being used to funnel Luciferian and satanic rhetoric. It's everywhere.

But for those of us who desire and are actively practicing The Way, how do we live apart from the world and survive it?

The Foundation: Redemption Through the Blood

1. We Must Be Redeemed

We must be redeemed and washed in the blood of the Lamb. Our darling Yahushua HaMashiach shed His blood so that we can have a right to eternal life.

"For Yah so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

2. We Must Believe

"For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

3. We Must Love Yahuah

We must have an authentic relationship with Him:

"You shall love the Adonai your Yah with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." (Deuteronomy 6:5)

The Daily Walk: Practical Steps

A Made-Up Mind

We must have a made-up mind that we want to love and serve Yahuah. In doing so, we actively, willingly cultivate a beautiful relationship with Him. We humble ourselves before Him and allow Him to search and cleanse our hearts:

"Therefore submit to Yah. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

"So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Adonai your Yah, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm." (Joel 2:13)

"Seek the Adon and His strength; Seek His face evermore!" (Psalm 105:4)

"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51:7)

A Living Sacrifice

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Yah, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to Yah, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)

Surrender and Transformation

We decide to give up our earthly, sensual worldly lawful rights in exchange for Yahuah's ways. We submit to His authority, accepting that His ways are right, and allow Him to restore our souls and transform us into His image—the way He intended before we were marred by the disgusting hands of Satan:

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Adon. (Isaiah 55:8)

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Adon, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of Yah." (Romans 12:2)

"For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence." (Ephesians 1:4)

"For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth." (Psalm 139:13-16)

The Narrow Gate: It Won't Be Easy

He didn't say it would be easy. Yahushua let us know in Matthew 7:14:

"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Not too many will be able to enter through the gate that leads to life, and the way is difficult. The Way involves sacrifice of self, refusing to give in to the whims of the flesh. We have to learn how to live in starvation mode and remain loyal and faithful even when the enemy dangles piping hot fish in front of you saying, "Come Get It!"

Radical Honesty

This involves radical honesty with ourselves about desires, triggers, and the things we want that may not be sin but can turn into it if we indulge and idolize them. We must also acknowledge the things that we know must be put to death.

Whatever you won't confess is not able to be addressed and healed.

Set Your Mind on Things Above

We must direct our minds on things approved by Abba Yah:

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." (Romans 8:5)

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want." (Galatians 5:16-17)

"All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath." (Ephesians 2:3)

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2)

Set Apart Living

We must walk as set-apart children of Yah and mind the business that saves us! There is no room for double-mindedness, drunkenness, compromise, and mixture. Make the choice today whom you are going to truly, authentically live for.

His Promises: You Are Not Alone

He promised to help us, strengthen us, and equip us:

"I can do all things through HaMashiach who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your Yahweh. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the Adonai your Yah who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for Yah has said: 'Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence: 'The Adon is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'" (Hebrews 13:5-6)

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." (John 14:26)

"The Adon is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)

There are so many more promises in His holy word where He promises to keep us, even through perilous times. Psalm 91 is one of many great chapters that describes all of the benefits we have in Him.

Conclusion: Lean on Him

As mere human beings, there is no way possible we can make it on this journey in holiness in our own strength and fortitude. But we can do it in the Ruach of our heavenly Father and faithful friend. He promised to never leave or forsake us.

Lean back in Him and let Him express His love through you.

*

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."

(Matthew 5:13-14)
