Scriptures Against Deception
The enemy uses deception to gain legal entry into the lives of believers. His dirty tactics started from when he was in heaven, deceived himself into thinking he should be greater than Yah, and took a few of the angels with him. Then he decided to hang out in the garden just to hiss in Eve's ear about how good that forbidden fruit was for her to eat. We know how that story ended because we are in the consequences of it: sinful nature and fallen earth.
He loves to trick us out of our right to fulfill destiny and obtain eternal life. One of the main deceptions is the one he sells that will cause you to believe the lies he tells you about your identity that are completely opposite of what Abba Yah has spoken. This type of deception is usually backed up by toxic environments filled with dishonorable vessels who will use their positions and tongues to speak death into your soul during vulnerable times in your life. That's why Satan thoroughly enjoys attacking children. He figures that if he can contaminate the seed before it truly sprouts out of the ground, then he has won.
The Blood of Yashua Still Works
Yahshua shed His blood and made a spectacle out of Satan and his cohorts. As we walk in His grace, we have the right to eternal life and to be healed. Psalm 23:3 says, He restores my soul.
Our souls (identities) can be restored no matter how broken or messed up we think we are. There is absolutely no one whom Yahshua cannot heal.
You must combat the lies with the truth of Yahshua's Word that speaks against the specific lies Satan is trying to sell to you. Here are a few of my favorite scriptures to read, meditate upon, and incorporate in prayer against the deception and lies of the enemy:
Psalm 119:30—I have chosen the way of truth; Your Right Rulings I have held level
John 14:6—I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except thru me
John 8:44—You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Proverbs 2:6—For the Adon gives wisdom: From His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
1st Cor 2:10—But Yahweh has revealed them to us through the Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of Yah.
2nd Thes 3:3—But the Adon is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
2nd Cor 5:17—Therefore, if anyone is in Mashiach, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
John 8:32 —And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Isaiah 43:18-19—Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I do a new thing; now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it?
Identifying The Specific Deception
What type of lies is old Slewfoot telling you? Search within the scriptures to find the specific truths that combat each lie and knock them down. Hold up that shield of faith and quench those fiery darts. If he attacks you by reminding you of your past, find the scriptures that remind you of your present redeemed state and that also remind him of his future. If he attacks your identity, find the scriptures that reiterate your identity in Yahshua. If he is telling you that you are not going to be anything, find the scriptures that tell you who you are in Yahshua.
Satan depends on our ignorance. Arm yourself with the truth. Always stand on Yah's Word, believe, and speak what is written.
